Paul Lowey retains Fairbairn Private Bank Order of Merit Title

The Fairbairn Private Bank Order of Merit title played over the season has been retained by Peel Golf Club's Paul Lowey. Over the nine rounds of golf played over four different courses in all kinds of weather conditions, Paul Lowey was an incredible eight under par, a truly worthy winner.

Paul started the season by winning the first of the three Fairbairn Private Bank sponsored events at Castletown Golf Club with rounds of 67 and 69 for a total of 136, he then went onto the second of the Fairbairn Private Bank 36-hole events held at Ramsey Golf Club losing out to Tom Gandy and Davy Jones on the back nine after all three players finished with a total of 143.

The W A Kirkpatrick Trophy held at Peel Golf Club also counts to the Order of Merit Trophy and Paul, with rounds of 69 and 68 for a total of 137, continued his great start to the season with another victory.

The third event in the Fairbairn Private Bank sponsored 36-hole competition, held at Mount Murray Golf Club on 12 June, had to be reduced to 18 holes due to horrendous weather conditions, but it still did not stop Paul from winning with a round of 71.

The Manx Amateur Close Island Golf Championship 36-hole medal qualifying day was held at Peel Golf Club on 16 July and the leading qualifier was Daryl Callister 66 and 66 for a total of 132, with Kevin Moore in second place with 70 and 67 for a total of 137, and Paul Lowey in third place with rounds of 67 and 71 totalling 138.
