Fairbairn Private Bank shortlisted in 2010 PAM awards

The Fairbairn Private Bank discretionary investment management service was shortlisted for the category 'Investment Performance - Growth Portfolio' in the 2010 PAM Awards* after being entered for the first time.

Fairbairn Private Bank was one of four firms shortlisted for the Investment Performance - Growth Portfolio award, for which an institution must prove it has consistently delivered the best total annual investment returns for clients for growth investment mandates.

The bank submitted its high risk strategy portfolio, which seeks to deliver an annualised return of cash plus 4% over a five to seven year investment term using an approach which combines strategic and tactical asset allocation to achieve the target return, while maintaining volatility as defined by standard deviation of 14% or above. The portfolio suits clients who are familiar with investment markets and who wish to achieve higher levels of return but who are accepting that this comes at the price of increased volatility and on occasions can lead to partial illiquidity. A net return of 39.55% since inception illustrates the portfolio's strong returns. A datasheet is available to download online.

The claim that 'size isn't everything' appears justified by the large number of smaller firms entering, and winning, the awards. It would seem size is no arbiter of success when it comes to providing top class investment performance and service quality.
