Fairbairn Private Bank hosts stars in their eyes event
9 July 2007
TONIGHT MATTHEW… A DISTINCTLY
DIFFERENT APPROACH
Fairbairn Private Bank hosted a fabulous Stars
in their Eyes event at Mount Murray for staff and friends, with
four acts competing for the grand prize of one hundred
pounds. The two hundred strong audience got in to the spirit
of things and turned out in an impressive array of fancy dress
costumes to cheer on friends and colleagues. A bottle of champagne
was awarded to Kiss and also the Village People for the best
costumes on the night.
The entertainment line up included
Aerosmith and Run DMC with a rocking rendition of Walk This Way.
Sister Sledge gave a smooth performance of We Are Family. The
Proclaimers got everyone’s feet tapping and hands clapping to I’m
Gonna Be (500 Miles) and The Wurzels completed the line up with
Combine Harvester.
The winning performance, as assessed by an
independent panel of guest judges, was The Proclaimers, better
known as David Carridge and Iain Wood. David, whose day job is
Management Accountant at Fairbairn Private Bank, quipped: “Next
stop, X-Factor!”
The “Take on That” tribute band treated the
audience to a feast of Take That’s greatest hits, literally
throwing themselves into a variety of energetic dance moves.
Greg Horton, Managing Director of Fairbairn
Private Bank, dressed as Beatles legend John Lennon, thanked the
organisers Rachael Seed (dressed as Agnetha from Abba), Louise
Shimmin (one of the Pink Ladies from Grease) and Tracy Christian
(as Beyoncé Knowles), from the Staff Social Committee for
co-ordinating such a fantastic and memorable event.
