Fairbairn Private Bank listed as one of the best small companies to work for

1 March 2010

TOP 8 RANKING FOR FAIRBAIRN PRIVATE BANK

For the sixth consecutive year Fairbairn Private Bank has been listed as one of the best small companies to work for and ranked very impressively at number 8 in the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For 2010, published this month.

The bank, with offices in London, Jersey, Isle of Man and South Africa is the only company to have remained on the small companies list for this length of time and continually moved up the ranking, having originally joined in 2005 at number 93.  Fairbairn Private Bank remains the first and only bank to ever feature in this highly coveted listing, an all the more extraordinary achievement given the current financial backdrop.

Fairbairn Private Bank is shown as the highest ranking of the six companies that have remained within the top 100 listing for the last five consecutive years.  In addition, 92% of staff feel the bank is run on a sound moral basis and 90% state that the leadership inspires them, both top 10 scores.  The bank also ranked 3rd for wellbeing and 13th for giving something back.

Greg Horton, Fairbairn Private Bank’s managing director, pictured receiving the award from Richard Caseby, managing editor of the Sunday Times commented: “I am immensely proud of our team and we are all delighted to have moved up the ranking for the sixth consecutive year to now feature within the top 10 businesses.  This award is particularly pleasing as it is a result of the largest employee survey of its kind with over 964 organisations involved and 230,000 employees completing the survey this year.”

Mr Horton continued, “Our ranking at number 8 within the top 100 listing reflects what our staff feel about the business, and underlines their satisfaction with their working environment where we operate within our corporate values of integrity, humility and respect.     We are a highly motivated team with a strong commitment to our clients, the personal development of our people and to the advancement of our shareholders, our community and our surrounding environment.”

This latest accolade follows a long list of awards for the bank, the most recent of which was the Three Star “extraordinary” accreditation* achieved in this year’s UK Best Companies Guide.  This incorporates companies of all sizes and industries across the entire UK and Fairbairn Private Bank is one of only 50 companies throughout the UK to have received the maximum Three Star Status.
