Successful junior season at Fairbairn Crosby Cricket Club
It was a successful finale to the 2011 season for the junior
teams at Fairbairn Crosby Cricket Club. The star performers were
the Under 13 squad who won their league with a staggering unbeaten
record, but the Under 9 team were not far behind finishing runners
up in their league. A final match defeat meant that the Under 9s
just missed out on winning the league, but nevertheless they
performed above expectations as Crosby's most successful Under 9
team to date. The Under 11 squad were not to be overlooked and
ended the season a respectable third in their league.
The junior teams are part of the club's successful youth policy
aimed at supporting up-and-coming cricketing talent for the future.
Cathy Cowin, senior marketing executive at Fairbairn Private Bank,
said: "We have sponsored Crosby Cricket Club for a number of years
and are delighted to add our support to its ongoing youth
development programme. It is good to see so many youngsters taking
up the sport at such an early age. Everyone at the bank
congratulates the teams on their successes this season."
The club continues to increase its membership and, alongside the
junior teams, now fields two senior teams for midweek matches and
one senior team in the weekend league.
