Fairbairn Private Bank sponsor a royal event
Fairbairn Private Bank was delighted to sponsor an awareness
raising event held on Thursday 3 December at Buckingham Palace. The
royal reception celebrated Durrell’s Wildlife Conversation Trust’s
anniversary celebrations and was hosted by Durrell’s patron, HRH
The Princess Royal.
Two hundred guests attended the elegant
evening and paid tribute to Durrell’s conservation work throughout
its 50 year history. The reception also sounded a rallying
call to join with the Trust in its vision for the future – to
create a thriving and sustainable natural world.
Commenting on the evening, David Stearn,
head of business development at Fairbairn Private Bank, said: “We
are honoured to sponsor an event that showcases Durrell’s successes
over the last 50 years. We are proud to play a part in the
vital conservation work carried out by Durrell’s team around the
world and wish them every success in the future.”
Fairbairn Private Bank currently adopts a
group of ring-tailed lemurs who live at the Trust in Jersey.
Durrell has been working with this species of endangered lemur
since 1964 and has bred a total of 38 ring-tailed lemurs between
1974 and 1993.
A recent donation from the bank has enabled
the Trust to introduce two female lemurs from Chester Zoo and it is
hoped to resume the breeding programme once again.
