Community support

	In 2008 we were pleased to enter into a partnership with Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust whose headquarters are in Jersey. This agreement, which involves sponsorship of the ring-tailed lemurs, will not only pay for the day-to-day care of the lemurs at Durrell but will also allow the charity to develop their understanding of the lemurs in order to protect them and enhance their chances of survival in the wild. It also enables Durrell to educate people regarding this endangered species and the complex task of saving these animals.

	For many years we have sponsored the Manx Wildlife Trust as a corporate member, supporting the trust through annual contributions and more recently working with the trust on a beach clean at The Ayres nature reserve on the Isle of Man.

	We also sponsor a local Isle of Man charity, Sailing for the Disabled, and its yacht: Pride of Mann II. Sailing for the Disabled helps disabled people by providing opportunities for them to participate on equal terms with their more able-bodied friends.

	Following the outstanding success achieved by Team FPB in 2009 and 2010, we are proud to continue our support of this initiative in 2011 as co-title sponsors of the Pure Planet Racing Team. Pure Planet Racing aims to become the first sporting team to race all over the world with a carbon neutral footprint. The team competes in a range of elite multisport events from cycling, trail running, and Ironman through to the famed Ö till Ö adventure race in Sweden. In addition, we sponsor a local Isle of Man cricket team, which is very active in coaching youngsters in the community and bringing them into the sport.
